Show Season 2006
Hotei at 5 months of age.
Again, we have three dogs being shown – now Shania, Alea, and Hotei, our male TM. While we did do the AKC Greenville shows for one day with Hotei and Alea (Alea took BOB and Misc Group), we generally concentrated on a number of UKC shows. At the Middle Georgia show in Perry, Georgia, Shania took Breed and a Group 1 at both of the shows, and a Reserve Best in Show! Alea and Shania had both earned UKC Top Ten points for 2005 and had invitations to the UKC Top Ten Invitational held at Premier in June. Even with hot, humid weather, Shania was quite the trooper, earning an Award of Excellence at the Top Ten Invitational and an Award of Merit at the Saturday show. By the fall, Alea was coming into her stride, and proved very successful at the UKC shows in Dallas, North Carolina and Hickory, North Carolina. At Dallas, she took Breed, a Group 1, and a Reserve Best in Show! This fall was also Hotei’s debut to the show ring. While he had stiff competition in the form of his two aunts, he earned his first major by taking Breed and then went on to earn a Group 2! With this win, all three TMs were in the UKC 2006 Top Ten!
