2007 was the first year that TMs were officially recognized by AKC and could compete in the Working Group. While many people were out early in the season, we decided to make our debut at the Foothills Circuit shows in Greenville in mid-February. This proved to be a very successful series of shows. We had Alea and Shania entered all three days, and Alea earned her points - taking three majors for a total of nine points – toward her AKC title! At the Piedmont Kennel Club shows in Charlotte in April, we had all three TMs entered. Hotei had his first AKC win and a 3 point major and Alea finished her AKC title with two more 3-point majors, making her the first TM to win, undefeated on each outing and with all majors! When it was finally published, Alea was the tenth TM to earn an AKC title! In September, we participated in the AKC shows in Chattanooga, Tennessee and again had quite a bit of good luck. On Saturday, Hotei took Breed and earned a 5 point major with Alea being BOS. On Sunday, Shania was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 5 point major and Alea took Breed! With these wins, Alea and Hotei were both in the Top Twenty-five, being #13 and #17, and received an invitation to the 2007 Eukanuba Invitational. In UKC, Hotei is now starting to come into his own. In September he earned his UKC-CH title and ended the year tied for first place with Alea! Not to be outdone, Alea has started training in AKC Rally, and earned her Rally Novice (RN) title in July!
